Nightly or recognized - whats the difference and which is better?
Unit Revenue Recognized shows rent revenue for a selected period based on the revenue attribution for your company. For example, if you recognize revenue upon departure a reservation for 5 days will only show revenue on the 5th day. Unit Revenue Recognized is only reflecting the rent rates- no taxes or fees. Unit Revenue Nightly represents rent revenue for the guest nights in a selected period. For example, a 5-day stay would reflect revenue for each day of that stay. You will notice recognized revenue in a few places in the dashboard including the Leaderboard Report and Owner Reports. A best practice is to use recognized revenue when in conversation with a homeowner. You can use recognized revenue or revenue nightly for revenue management and is up to the property manager and their preference.
